November: Not just for Thanksgiving.

When you think of November, the first things that come to mind are Thanksgiving, cooler temperatures falling leaves.

But did you know that November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month?

The American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE initiative is devoting the month of November to help raise lung cancer awareness across the country.

Quick Facts:

About every two and a half minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with lung cancer.

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.

People who never smoked make up approximately 2,900 of the estimated 21,000 radon-related cancer deaths each year.

How can you make a difference?

Help spread the word that radon is a silent killer. #LCAM  #test4radon  #lungcancer

Get regular check-ups – there are no immediate symptoms of radon, but the long term threat of lung cancer is consequential.
